The United Kingdom On Shore Pipeline Operators Association (UKOPA) is a membership only organisation and we take your privacy seriously.

The Information that we hold is limited to business contact details for nominated personnel from our member companies. We do not collect or hold any other personal information or data.

Only the UKOPA secretariat has access to the personal data that you have agreed to provide us as part of your membership and it used for the purposed of membership account administration. Contact information is held in secure cloud based storage, access to which is only available to the secretariat. We do not transfer data outside of the Economic European Area.

We keep the information for as long as you are a member of UKOPA and / or one of the nominated representatives for UKOPA business, after which time it will be permanently deleted.

You have the right to request from us access to your own personal information. This is sometimes known as a ‘subject to access request’. From 25 May 2018, you have additional rights to request from us:

  1. That any inaccurate information we hold about you is corrected
  2. That your information is deleted
  3. That wed stop using your personal information for certain purposes
  4. That your information is provided to you in a portable format
  5. That decision about your are not made by wholly automated means

A number of the additional rights listed above are limited to certain defined circumstances and / or are not relevant to our use of your personal data and we may not be able to comply with your request. We will tell you if this is the case. If you chose to make a request to us, we will aim to response to you within one month. We will not charge a fee for dealing with your request.

If you are dissatisfied with how we are using your personal information of if you wish to complain about how we have handled a request, then please contact the UKOPA secretariat and we will try to resolve any issues you may have. However, you also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, which is the statutory regulator for data protection law/. Due to the limited personal data held UKOPA has not appointed a full time Data Protection Officer, however any questions relating to personal data held by UKOPA should be directed to the UKOPA secretariat as per the contact details on our website.
